With an old-fashioned work culture inclined towards duty, this artisan with multiple skills born of lived and inherited experience and a curiosity to learn, devoted himself body and soul for more than three decades to various conservation tasks at the Casa de Pilatos in Seville, which he came to consider more than just his home and where he asked to rest eternally. The first employee of the Fundación Casa Ducal de Medinaceli, he identified himself very early on with the Foundation’s efforts to promote some of the devotions historically linked to this House. He was especially noted for his role in the development of the Pia Unión del Vía Crucis a la Cruz del Campo, an institution that brings together all the brotherhoods of Seville, which annually commemorates in the Casa de Pilatos the Via Crucis that the Marquis of Tarifa instituted on his return from his pilgrimage to the Holy Land and of which he was deputy mayor of the government, prior, steward and fiscal. The Foundation invites family and friends to join the mass for his eternal rest which will be celebrated (D.M.) in the chapel of the Casa de Pilatos next Monday 8th April at 8 p.m.
