"With the completion of the restoration of this Roman sculpture of "Faustina minor divinizada como Fortuna", carved from a single block of marble, larger than the natural one, in 176 AD, there are now two statues in the corners of the main courtyard of the house of Pilate that have recovered their original appearance. This is part of the project begun some years ago to clean and consolidate all the marble in this palace and especially the sculpture collection that the 1st Duke of Alcalá, Per Afan Enríquez de Ribera, formed in Naples during his viceroyalty in the mid-16th century. In addition to recovering some of the attributes that had been lost and that were carefully kept in the palace, the restoration process has allowed us to discover the original base of the four large sculptures in the main courtyard, which appears in the engravings and in the first photographs of the courtyard prior to the reforms introduced in this space in the mid-19th century by the 15th Duchess of Medinaceli, Angela Pérez de Barradas y Bernuy, better known by the title she used as the Duchess of Denia, when she was already a widow".
