On 25 May at 8 p.m., the book presentation of the book "The artistic promotion of the Ducal House of Medieval Mediciinaceli. Visual memory and architecture in Andalusia and Castile (14th-16th centuries)." of Raúl Romero Medina edited by Doce Calles in the House of Pilate.
The publication is the result of several years ofresearch in various archives and libraries, codifies the visual image and artistic promotion of eight generations of the Cerda lineage, counts (1368) and dukes of Medinaceli (1479), proposing, on the uninterrupted line of thirteen hundred years of history, an interpretation of this important cultural activity. The book analyses the Hispanic nobility and the promotion of the sumptuary arts, tapestries, arms and jewellery, and interprets artistic events in the early modern period.
The President and Director of the Foundation, Olga Pérez Monzón, Professor of the Department of Art History (UCM) and Matilde Miquel Juan, Professor of the Department of Art History (UCM) took part in the event.
