Portrait of Augustus or one of his grandsons, Gaius or Lucius Caesar.

Roman workshop
1st century AD

The type of hairstyle on the forehead corresponds to that of the portraits on the Octavian coins from between 42 and 38 BC, which is why it has been identified by some as Augustus. However, the youth of the figure does not correspond to the age of this emperor, which, together with the resemblance to the portraits of his grandsons and adopted sons, Gaius and Lucius Caesar, suggests that he is one of them.
