Portrait of Ana Fernández de Henestrosa Gayoso de los Cobos, daughter of the Marquises of Camarasa and 17th Duchess of Medinaceli through her marriage in 1911 to Luis Jesús Fernández de Córdoba. Álvarez de Sotomayor portrays her in semi-darkness, in one of the salons of the palace in the Plaza de Colón in Madrid that no longer exists, with only the light that enters through one of the courtyards flanking the staircase of honour standing out in the background, The light is concentrated on the sitter to play with the different shades of white of her skin, the pearls she wears and the tulle of the Queen's lady's gala dress, against which the intense colours of the sash of the Order of the Queen's Noble Ladies and the badges she wears at the neckline stand out: those of the aforementioned Order and of the palatine position of Queen's Lady of the Queen, which was conferred on her in 1912.
