"The Ducal House of Medinaceli Foundation and the City Council of A Estrada have just signed an agreement for the rehabilitation of the surroundings of the Pazo de Oca square, the only monument in the region that, according to La Voz de Galicia, complies with the legal obligations required of monuments declared BIC. This rehabilitation pursues four objectives: elimination of the car park in the area surrounding the transept, protecting it with a double stone and plant ring, recovery of the original height to free the half-buried Baroque arches (see image above) and reduce water drainage towards the façades of the pazo and the chapel, burying of the electricity networks and replacement of the current lighting system with one more in keeping with its rustic character and installation of a new drainage and rainwater channelling network. The Foundation will be responsible for the landscaping of this space and its lighting. At the same time, the agreement aims to make this monument better known and appreciated by the people of Estrada by exempting them from the entrance fee".
