"The Hospital de Tavera exceeds 100,000 visits as a ""Espacio Greco"". The Hospital de Tavera has had more than 100,000 visitors since it joined the celebrations of the 4th centenary of the birth of El Greco on 14 March as one of the five "Greco Spaces" that can be visited in the city of Toledo. The Church and Sacristy, the latter restored for the occasion, reflect some of El Greco's architectural ideas and, as well as bringing together all the pictorial works by the Cretan artist that this Hospital has preserved: The Baptism of Christ in its original altarpiece The Holy Family with Saint Anne Saint Peter in tears Cardinal Tavera and Saint Francis kneeling in prayer, it exhibits for the first time the sculpture of the Risen Christ inside its Tabernacle, just as El Greco conceived it.The refurbishment of the space, the extension of the opening hours from 10 am to 8 pm, the beauty and interest of the building and the artistic collections of its Museum have offered a visit of great attraction and quality that in six months, fruit of the collaboration of the foundations El Greco 2014 and Casa Ducal de Medinaceli, has multiplied the visits that the Hospital Tavera receives every year".
